HEALTH & GUARANTEE

HEALTH GUARANTEE

K & J Pointing Labs provides a 26 month health guarantee.  This guarantee covers hereditary genetic disorders that would prevent your dog from being certified by OFA or CERF.  In order for this guarantee to apply, your dog must be x-rayed between 24 - 26 months of age and the x-rays sent to OFA to be examined by a qualified vet.  Dogs must be in the ownership of the original buyer and may not reproduce before OFA and CERF approval or the health guarantee is void.  

In the very unlikely event your dog does not pass the OFA of CERF examination, you will be asked to have your dog spayed or neutered, and you will be given another pup of similar breeding from K & J Pointing Labs.  OFA and CERF will be the sole judges on whether a dog qualifies for replacement.  Dogs with hip dysplasia, grade 2 or 3 elbows, retinal atrophy, or retinal dysplasia qualify for a replacement puppy.  A copy of all findings from OFA and CERF must be sent to K & J Pointing Labs along with record from your vet that the dog has been spayed or neutered.  K & J Pointing Labs is not responsible for any vet or medical bills that are incurred during this process.  The current owner will be responsible for all travel costs of a new pup.

VACCINATIONS

Your pups dew claws will be removed on their third day of life.  The pups will be wormed and given their first sets of shots.  You will receive record of all of the vaccinations and dates when you pick up your puppy.  We recommend you take your puppy to your local vet within the first couple of weeks after you pick your puppy up.  Bring with you the list of vaccinations that your pup has already received so your vet can see what the pup has had and get the pup on the vaccination schedule that they want to use.

Puppies will be available to go to their new homes between 7 and 8 weeks of age.  Your pup will also have a complete vet check around 5 weeks of life to insure they are completely healthy and ready for their new homes!
